Steering the College

The South Hampshire College Group Corporation is a legal entity that sets the mission and strategic direction of the College, scrutinises performance against key objectives and acts as a ‘critical friend’ to the Senior Leadership Team.  The Corporation play a crucial role in guiding and monitoring the work of the Group, setting high and ambitious standards and ensuring our resources are used efficiently. The work of the Corporation is delegated into three main committees which each take responsibility for looking into a particular area in more depth. The Corporation includes the following committees:
  • Curriculum and Quality
  • Resources
  • Audit and Risk
  • Governance

Sandra Prail - South Hampshire College Group

Sandra Prail

Sandra is a National Leader of Governance with FE Commissioner’s Office.
An experienced FE Chair and coach/mentor specialising in governance she is a former Solicitor and Local Government Monitoring Officer.

Sarah Harder-Collins - South Hampshire College Group

Safeguarding Governor

Sarah Harder-Collins

Sarah is currently Deputy Director Student Support and Success at the University of Winchester and voluntary Founding Trustee for Winchester City of Sanctuary.  Sarah has a wealth of experience in championing Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and working with young people and adults to improve their educational outcomes.

Fran Butler

Fran Butler

Fran is an experienced Learning and Development Executive.  She has held senior roles across a number of sectors including policing, defence, maritime and education. Fran now works as an L&D Director with a major global hotel company.

Collins Ntim - South Hampshire College Group

Collins Ntim

Collins is a Chartered Accountant and Professor of Accounting at the University of Southampton, UK.  He is also an executive trustee and a company director. Collins brings his extensive experience and knowledge of higher education to the work of the Board.

Emily Morey - South Hampshire College Group

Emily is an experienced senior leader in the secondary school sector currently working as a Vice Principal at Charter Ark Academy. Emily is passionate about education’s role in changing individuals’ life chances.

Ian Harris - South Hampshire College Group

Ian Harris

Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee

Ian Harris

Ian has gained extensive experience of financial management and accounting, audit / governance and risk management.
He is a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and currently works as Director of Finance Shared Services at CooperVision.

Andy Wannell - South Hampshire College Group

Andy Wannell

A chartered public finance accountant, Andy has held a career in local government finance for over 30 years and is currently the Chief Executive Officer at Fareham Borough Council.  He has a wealth of experience as a non-executive Director and Trustee of various organisations.

Kerrie Clark

Kerrie Clark

Kerrie is the Financial Controller at Southampton Solent University.
An experienced accountant with 30 years’ experience working in the HE sector.

Colin O'Donoghue - South Hampshire College Group

Colin O’Donoghue

Colin O’Donoghue

Colin is a financial leader being involved with large Corporations, Private Equity and SMEs.  A strong finance and operational background with international experience, Colin is also a member of both ACCA and CIOT.

Hollie Swift

Hollie Swift

Hollie brings with her approaching 30 years of financial services risk, compliance and governance experience, which she has gained in multiple financial services organisations, including the London Stock Exchange. She is currently Director of Risk Advisory, Operations and Compliance at the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).  Hollie is a passionate advocate and ambassador for inclusion and diversity, as a current member of the FCA’s Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Programme Board.

Nick Cheaney

Nick Cheaney

Nick is an experienced Risk and Control expert, having recently retired from a 34 year career within JPMorgan Chase Bank (prior to that, the London Stock Exchange). Within the many senior leadership roles Nick has run global Business Control Committees, Risk Committees, regional governance committees as well as having set up and run the Corporate and Investment Bank’s ESG Control Committee. Nick has been an avid supporter and promoter of apprenticeships and the Veterans’ direct hire frameworks.

Jennese Alozie

Jennese Alozie

Jennese is CEO of University of Chichester Academy Trust. An education specialist with expertise from Early years to Post 16. She holds board member roles and has been a lead Ofsted Inspector.

Phillip Wright

Corporation Member

Phillip Wright

Phillip is a Leader in Higher Education at Executive Board level. An experienced member of boards and currently focussed on student recruitment, estates and sustainability. Phillip is also a Chartered Engineer.

Caroline Perrett

Caroline Perrett

Caroline is a Curriculum Director at South Hampshire College Group’s Eastleigh College. She specialises in leadership and is an advocate of the wellbeing and development of staff.

Gregory Kitchin

Staff Governor

Gregory Kitchin

Greg is a Curriculum Director for Creative and Digital Industries at South Hampshire College Group’s Fareham College, and has been with the organisation for over 10 years. He has experience in managing numerous successful departments and is an advocate for the positive role vocational education can play in the lives of young people.
