Tanzania Day 3

Student: Ella-Mae Wilkinson

Country: Tanzania

Day 3 in Tanzania we went to the cultural heritage centre where we saw loads of different paintings by different artists in africa showing the different cultures and styles through paintings. They also had sculptures of animals and many different kinds of their culture. They also had a gift shop where they sold the crystal tanzanite where I also bought two magnets and a bracelet from the shop. After that we went to the Shanga foundation where they give people with disabilities an opportunity in employment and to give back to tourism. As well as everything that is made is recycled they make many different things such as bags, bracelets, mini sculptures, necklaces, glasses and luggage tags as well as many more. We then went to lunch at a sports bar where they let us go through the kitchen so we could see how the food is made. We ordered way too much food but it was all so good and everyone there was so nice and welcoming towards us. After lunch we went to the tourism board where he told us what his role is and how they help create opportunities of tourism in Arusha as well as how they help promote tourism to internationals and local communities. We then came back to the hotel where we chilled before dinner. After dinner me Jaimee and Monique hid by the swings and scared Jo and Charlotte before going back to our rooms to get ready for bed.
