Rainy Day

Day 5 – Today in the morning we went to the wildlife conservation office and they explained what they do and where they focus. Their main focus was the Ngorogoro conservation and how they bring tourists into it. They are hoping to become the number one tourist attraction in Africa.

After that we were meant to go on an anti poaching walk however the weather was awful today. It has been heavy rain and cold all day. So we postponed the walk and decided to go to another glass making workshop. This was very similar to the one we went to a couple days ago, they focus on giving disabled. It allows people with disabilities to live independently. I think it is amazing that they do this, all of the staff were so friendly and welcoming. We watched them make glasses by hand, they could make one glass in about two minutes which was very impressive. One of the men that makes glass showed us his sculptures and gave us all a necklace he made. It was a glass heart attached to a string, very sweet of him.

After that we went for lunch at a local restaurant where we had chicken and chips. We also tried some fufu with vegetables, it was interesting to try but wasn’t my favourite.
After that we decided to go back the African art museum to look around the shop a bit more because we didn’t have enough time to look at everything last time. Once we finished there we went back to the hotel and got ready for dinner. We had soup for starter and had spaghetti and beef for dinner.
