Day 7

Student: Jaimee-leigh

Country: Tanzania

Today we spent the whole day with the tribe and started of with breakfast at 8 which was pancakes, a few rolls and some other things. We then went back into our rooms and got ready for our walk. The walk was 3 hours. The first few hours started off lovely it was a nice peaceful walk enjoying the scenery. We then came across zebras, gazelles and wildebeest. I was so excited to see actual wild animals known in Africa. We continued to walk as close as we could get without it being dangerous to them and admired there beauty.

We then moved on and everyone was getting tired we lost our motivation, until we saw giraffes! Everyone was so excited and pleased we got to see them in there natural habitat. We watched and again admired them from as close as we could get (a safe distance). After we saw the giraffes, we walked go a point where the bus could come pick us up. We got on the bus and all of a sudden it wouldn’t move the wheels were stuck in the mud. Ben and a few others from the tribe helped push the bus through and over the mud. We then made our way back and did a few last activities with the tribe before we left. One of the tribe members set out a museum like of artefacts and told us the history of them. We then also got to see how the Maasai did their bead work and make something for ourself. After that we packed up our bits said our goodbyes and left to go to our accommodation for that night. On the way back we saw more giraffes and a slight glimpse of Kilimanjaro. We then arrived at a lovely posh 5 star hotel which was amazing but we was all pretty tired so we had our dinner which was really nice, I had steak, and then went up to our rooms showered and relaxed in our hotel room
