DAY 5-Safari walk

Student: Lily Bedson

Country: Tanzania

Day 7-
Today we woke up in the mud huts. My back was really hurting as the bed mattress was quite thin but i didn’t let my back pain ruin my day. We had breakfast, i had two pancakes and a bread roll with tropical juice.

We then set off for our walk in safari which was 3 hours long. In this was we saw Zebras, Wilder Beasts, Gazelle and Giraffes. It was so amazing to see the animals up close but we had to be quiet so we didn’t scare them away. This meant we could get really close to the animals and see how they live in their environment. Throughout the walk most of us got really hot and had to slow down and sit in the shade. When we got back to the Maasai Tribe Village, I realised I had got burnt as i forgot to top up my suncream throughout the walk and didn’t realise how hot it really was. We then went to the mini museum and they spoke to us about the history behind the tribes. The college then made a decision that it wasn’t a good idea to stay at the tribe village for another night as everyone’s phones and portable chargers were dying and we would’ve been able to get in contact with anyone if we were in an emergency.

We then found a luxury hotel and set off to go to it. It took about 2 hours to get to the hotel and when we turned up it felt like heaven. They offered us hibiscus juice which was really nice and showed us to our rooms. The rooms were lovely, they had a TV, a massive bed, a lovely shower and a balcony with an amazing view. We then got dressed up for dinner and i had steak and chips and it was so good. We then headed to bed ready for the next day.
