Day 5
We started the day by visiting another TAWA tourism board. The guy there told us about tourism in Tanzania and their attractions that they offer. He then answered some of our questions about travelling and our future activities.
We then were supposed to be going on a anti poaching walk with the TAWA people but it was raining all morning and got cancelled so instead we went to another organisation that helps people with disabilities, here they also made blankets, clothes, key chains, bags, glasses and many more. Before the tour, we learnt the alphabet in Swahili sign language which was really nice as we were able to communicate with the deaf people there. We then watched a group of guys make a glass cup. And then one of the guys gave us all a necklace with a heart shape glass charm on it. It was so cute. It was also nice to see how they all have their own little job when making a glass, it’s all about teamwork and co operating with each other. The whole purpose of this organisation allowed people with disabilities to live independently and i love that. Everyone there was so welcoming and happy.
After we had lunch at local restaurant. Once we were finished we then went back to the African Art Gallery just to shop at the gift shop. I bought some presents for my family and friends and for myself. I love shopping here as everything is so different but colourful. After everyone had finished in the gift shop, we headed back to the lodge to start packing up all our stuff for tomorrow as we are going to stay at the Maasai culture village.
