Day 12
Today we went to a coffee bean plantation where they showed us the process of how they make coffee. First, we went out to a field where they showed us the coffee plants and the beans growing off the branches. They then told us that the beans that were red meant they were ready to be picked. The guys picked the ones that were ready and we then headed back to the buildings. They put the coffee beans into a machine that removed the shell, then into a huge grinder a crunched up the beans.
While this was happening, all the workers were singing and dancing and they said that they do this for motivation. They then cooked the beans on a fire and again they started to sing and dance. It’s so nice to see how happy people are here all the time ,no matter what they do. Once the coffee was ready, people were able to try it. I don’t drink coffee but everyone that did try it said it was actually really good.
We then saw a waterfall which was beautiful and the sound was so relaxing. Once we were done there, we headed to a supermarket to get some last little bits and food for tomorrow. For lunch, we had KFC which was really good and for some reason reminded me of England and being back home.
After that we went back to our rooms and I packed my suit case ready for leaving on Friday making sure everything was in there. Then we chilled until dinner.
