Day 11
We started the day by travelling to a snake park. There, we met up with a guy who gave us an informative tour, he gave us lots and lots of information about all the different types of snakes, cobras and pythons they had there. It was a bit scary because I have a fear of snakes. But I powered through and took pictures of them and was actually really interested by all of them. Then we saw some tortoises and held them, they were so cute but HUGE.
We then saw a vulture and another bird and it was munching on a little chick, it was quite disgusting but it’s the circle of life. While we were walking around, above us were loads of bats sleeping in the trees. It was strange to see all of them hanging from trees in the daylight because i always thought bats couldn’t be in sunlight. Then we saw some huge crocodiles. They didn’t even look real as they weren’t moving, until one of them blinked then I knew they were actually real! We walked around some more until we were at a snakes enclosure, the guy got out the snake and held it. Everyone then was stroking the snake, I got over my fear and stroked it as well and the feeling of the snake actually shocked me because I didn’t expect it to feel soft.
After the tour of all the animals, we had a little tour of a Maasai cultural museum. Our tour guide was so funny when taking us around but also really informative and I learnt so much more about the Maasai culture from it. Once we were done, we headed back to Vijiji, We stopped at a supermarket on the way back to get some snacks then arrived back at the lodges for dinner and to chill for the rest of the day.
