Day 6
Today we travelled 3 hours to Kilimanjaro. We visited Mount Kilimanjaros gate and had a little presentation there. The lady there told us about Kilimanjaro and all the different routes you can take to climb it. We then took some pictures near the sign as if we had just climbed it then had lunch on a little bench. However you weren’t able to see the mountain as it was rainy and cloudy. After that we visited a college. A teacher there then spoke about the different courses the college offers and about tourism in general.
It was nice to see how different the schools are from back home. Once we had finished at the college, we then travelled 2 hours to the Maasai village. When we arrived, we were greeted with the tribe singing and dancing. It shocked me at first because it was something i’ve never seen before but as it went on I started to enjoy it and appreciate how cool it actually was. It then became really dark and we all sat around a camp fire, we then had dinner which was so good. Then we sat around the camp fire some more before going to bed. Our huts looked like they were made out of mud and was a little scary to be honest!
