South Hampshire College Group has been shortlisted in six categories of the Portsmouth and Chichester Apprenticeship Awards 2026.
The nominations include:
- South Hampshire College Group in the Training Provider category
- Grace Hood in the Professional Services Apprentice category
- Georgina Rogers in the Intermediate Apprentice category
- Brandon Engert in the Construction Apprentice category
- Thomas Pullen in the Higher Apprentice category
- Alisha Lane, put forward by her employer STS Defence in the Engineering Apprentice category.
Beth Challoner, Director of Apprenticeships and Business Engagement at South Hampshire College Group, said: “We are thrilled to see so many of our apprentices recognised at this year’s awards, reflecting their hard work and the invaluable support of their employers and our staff. We are equally proud that South Hampshire College Group has been shortlisted for Training Provider of the Year, particularly given the scale and complexity of our construction apprenticeship provision. The Portsmouth and Chichester Apprenticeship Awards are a flagship celebration of apprenticeships across our region, and it is a real privilege to be part of them.”
Ashley Vaughan, Head of Apprenticeships for Marine, Engineering and Manufacturing at South Hampshire College Group, said: “We are incredibly proud to see five South Hampshire College Group apprentices recognised across such a diverse range of apprenticeship areas. From Hairdressing and Learning & Development to Bricklaying and Engineering, Georgina, Grace, Brandon, Thomas and Alisha are fantastic examples of the talent, ambition and commitment demonstrated by our apprentices across the Group.
“Their recognition is a wonderful reflection of the opportunities apprenticeships provide, alongside the dedication of our teaching and training teams and the employers who support our apprentices to develop their skills and build successful careers.
“We are delighted to see their achievements celebrated and particularly pleased that Alicia’s Engineering Fitter nomination came from her employer, STS Defence. We wish all five every success and are incredibly proud of them.”
The Portsmouth and Chichester Apprenticeship Awards puts a spotlight on the diverse range of apprenticeships available across Hampshire and Sussex. It showcases the dedication, hard work, and achievements of individuals undertaking apprenticeships, as well as the businesses and training providers supporting them.
The celebratory awards will take place on the evening of Thursday 22 October at the Portsmouth Marriott Hotel. Guests will enjoy a three-course meal at the formal dress ceremony, hosted by radio presenter Mark Collins.
