We’re really pleased that you are joining South Hampshire College Group (SHCG) this September, and we hope you’re looking forward to starting (or returning to) one of our colleges.
The information here is for returning students aged 16 – 19, if you are a new student and did not attend last year please find the information you need here.
No problem – come down and see us between 9:30 – 16:00 Monday to Friday. Remember to bring your exam results and photo ID.
If you’ve changed your mind or are still figuring things out, don’t worry come down and see us between 9:30 – 16:00 Monday to Friday. If you haven’t already applied you can do so in person with us and our friendly team will guide you through your options. Remember to bring your exam results and photo ID.
Please be aware that August – September is an extremely busy period for our Admissions Teams and there may be a delay in our response to your calls or emails.
Most students returning from last year (2024/25) are required to attend an enrolment appointment to secure a place on the course and to get set-up for the new academic year. Your place will be at risk if you do not attend enrolment.
T Level – Year 2
If you’re continuing with us on a two-year T Level course, you won’t need to complete enrolment as we will automatically re-enrol you for your second year. Before the end of August, you will receive an email confirming the date and time you are expected to return to college. Your new 2025/26 student ID card will be printed and ready waiting for you on your first day of term.
Enrolment will take place during the last week of August, with late enrolment appointments being held in the first week of September.
If you have a course offer with us, you will be emailed in August with confirmation of the date and time of your in-person enrolment appointment, which will be held at the college you have been offered a place at. You must attend this appointment to secure your place.
On GCSE results day (Thursday 21 August), you will be emailed an online pre-enrolment link to upload your GCSE results (if you have re-taken these exams) and to sign your new learning agreement. It is important that you do this, in advance of your enrolment appointment, to confirm that you wish to enrol at the College and to help speed up your enrolment time with us.
If you can’t find our emails, please check your junk mail / spam folder.
No problem – come down and see us between 9:30 – 16:00 Monday to Friday.
If you’ve changed your mind or are still figuring things out, don’t worry, you can still come down and see us. If you haven’t already applied you can do so in person with us and our friendly team will guide you through your options.
Please remember to bring your results and ID with you.
If you have an appointment booked it is important that you do your best to attend your enrolment appointment. Many courses are in high demand, and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. A later, rescheduled appointment may put your place at risk as we also have new applicants to enrol on our courses.
If you have questions please come in, you can reach out to the teams at the colleges but the quickest way is to come in and speak to us.
Eastleigh College – [email protected]
Fareham College, CEMAST & CETC – [email protected]
Southampton College – [email protected]
Please note – our teams will be extremely busy during August and September so it may take us slightly longer than usual to get back to you. Please bear with us!
We anticipate your enrolment appointment to take about 45 minutes, however, depending on your circumstances (for example changing course or needing to re-sit GCSE English and/or maths) or at peak times, you may be with us for up to 2 hours.
Come in and see us 9:30 -16:00 Monday to Friday and chat to our friendly team who can support you.
Progression interviews were carried out before the summer. If you did not attend your interview, then you should receive an email from us shortly inviting you to a Late Interview & Enrolment appointment, which will be held in early September at the college you have applied to. Keep an eye on your emails and do check your junk mail / spam folder.
It is important that you attend your appointment as late spaces are expected to fill up fast. Many courses are in high demand, and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
If you haven’t got the grades you were expecting or have changed your mind I would like to do a different course please click here
So that we can complete your enrolment, you must bring the following with you to your enrolment appointment:
DBS check
Some courses, like health, care and early years, require an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check. If you already have a DBS from last year, please bring it with you so we can verify it. If not, we will need to see additional documents for these at your enrolment appointment, such as proof of current address (in an official letter no older than three months). You’ll receive more details in a separate DBS email from us if this applies to you.
At your enrolment appointment, we will take your photo, and you will be given your personalised student ID card and SHCG branded student lanyard. This will provide you with access to our colleges, and you are required to wear it at all times whilst onsite.
Keeping our college safe – all students and staff are issued with an ID card to show that they are a member of our college community and are authorised to be onsite at our college.
Full-time courses start week beginning 8 September 2025; your lecturer will tell you when your first day of college will be during your enrolment appointment.
On your first day at college, staff will be on hand to welcome you and help direct you to where you need to go. Please remember to wear your lanyard and student ID card.
During your enrolment appointment, the lecturer will provide you with your provisional timetable and will confirm the date and time you need to start your course. Please note this timetable may be subject to change and will not include any required English and/or maths classes.
Yes, absolutely! You’re more than welcome to bring someone along for moral or practical support. However, to help keep numbers manageable during our busiest time of the year, we’d be grateful if you’d only bring one other person.
If you’re aged under 19 (as of 31 August 2025), then your full-time course will be free to study, but coming to college can involve other costs such as travel, equipment and trips. Financial support may be available.
If you have been offered a place on a full-time course and are aged 19 or over (as of 31 August 2025), you will be contacted with information about the cost of your course and any funding and/or financial support available to you.
There is some useful course fee and financial support information on our website: Financial Support – SHCG | South Hampshire College Group
Financial support may be available, depending on your personal circumstances, to support you with college meals, travel, essential kit and uniform, trips, other course costs, or childcare. Further information, and how to apply, is available on our website: Financial Support – SHCG | South Hampshire College Group
If you haven’t achieved GCSE English and/or maths at grade 4 or above, then you’ll need to retake them. These requirements will be added to your final timetable alongside your main subject qualification.
If you’re concerned that you haven’t met the entry requirements for the course you have been offered, don’t worry, we will discuss any necessary alternative options when you come for your appointment.
You should still complete your online confirmation and attend your scheduled enrolment appointment. We are confident that we will have a course that is right for you.
No, it’s not too late to change courses although there may be limited courses available. We are still taking applications and will do our best to find spaces for late applicants.
If you’ve not yet applied, please come down the speak to us, we are here 9:30 – 16:00 Monday to Friday.
Our team will talk through your preferred course options with you and help you complete an application.
