This apprenticeship is ideal if you want to develop your coaching skills within an organisational context. This might be as a dedicated coach, a team leader or manager, trainer, or teacher. The aim of a coaching professional apprenticeship is to enable coaches to work with a range of individuals and teams and across organisations, to empower and engage them to enhance their professional performance.
Coaching is a way of leading in a non-directive manner, helping people to learn through deep listening and reflective, open questions rather than instructing or giving advice. The purpose of coaching is building the self-belief of others, regardless of the context, to be curious and self-aware, better equipping them to collaborate, innovate, deal with the increasing pace of change and get the best from, increasingly diverse environments. Effective coaching is future focussed, releasing the potential of individuals and teams, enabling transformation and change for business improvement whilst also bringing about positive changes in leadership style and organisational culture.
This apprenticeship standard covers the core skills, knowledge and behaviours to demonstrate competency of a Coaching Professional and covers:
You will develop your skills, knowledge and behaviours through on and off-the-job training and are expected to attend College for pre-arranged masterclasses.
You will need to have relevant employment, and entry is subject to interview and assessment.
GCSE English and maths grade 4/C or above (or Level 2 functional skills) are preferred.
Successful completion of this Level 5 apprenticeship opens up opportunities to a variety of coaching job roles, for example: Business Coach, Career Coach, Coaching Professional, Leadership Coach, Performance Coach, Systemic Coach, Team Coach, or Wellbeing Coach.
You may also consider progression to a Level 7 coaching or leadership qualification, a degree apprenticeship, or to relevant post-graduate degree programmes.
Your progress will be continuously monitored and supported by a Professional Trainer.
Depending on the standard, we assess your competence through various methods, such as practical exams, assignments, interviews, project work, presentations or observations and we will also evaluate your portfolio of evidence, which documents your learning and progress throughout your apprenticeship with us.
The apprenticeship end-point assessment is the final evaluation stage of your apprenticeship programme. It's designed to determine whether you have achieved the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to meet the apprenticeship standard and perform the job role independently.
Successful completion of the end-point assessment is required to receive certification.
