The Course in Detail

*This is an advanced course. For school leavers, you will first need to complete Level 2 Women’s Hairdressing or a similar qualification.

This course will develop your technical skills and knowledge in advanced cutting, styling and colouring techniques. It will also build on your customer service and health and safety skills required to work in the industry.

The course is a combination of practical work in our commercial salon as well as classroom based theory lessons.

Skilled hairdressers are always in demand, with endless career opportunities ranging from working in the media to running your own business. Right now, it’s an exciting time to start your career, with more focus than ever on haircare, sustainable products and the impact of social media trends. In this course, you will build advanced cutting, styling, and colouring skills, learning complex techniques such as colour correction.

You’ll train in our fully equipped hair salons, consulting and working with real paying clients.
You’ll gain all the tools you need to step straight into your dream career after college, including work experience, trips, talks from guest speakers, and entry into industry competitions.

Entry Requirements & Progression

What You'll Need

You will need a relevant Level 2 qualification (merit or distinction grade) including GCSE English and maths grades 4-9, or equivalent.

This Could Lead to

Once you have completed this Level 3 course, you can progress into a higher apprenticeship or skilled employment in the hairdressing industry, including: setting up your own business or working in commercial barbers, hair salons, spas, hotel chains or on cruise ships.
