The Course in Detail

Using traditional skills and digital technology, this course examines typography, colour theory, image-based media, branding, design for print and digital, texture, plus 2D and 3D design. You will also explore a variety of approaches to the production and presentation of design and imagery coupled with the development of an appropriate critical vocabulary.

This course provides a grounding in graphic design, digital imaging, printmaking and visual language. Over two years, you will explore a wide range of challenging projects such as book and magazine design through to conceptual representation.

You will go on a variety of study visits to galleries and museums, which are selected to guide and enrich your personal learning experience.

As you progress, you will work on a range of diverse units, where you will begin to hone your practice. This will then begin to shape your creative direction and prepare you for your progression into industry or university.

Through guided work experience, you will have the opportunity to work on live projects, where you will be producing artwork to meet the clients needs; this will also develop your professional working standards and practice.
