The Course in Detail

If you’re looking to launch your career in the media industry, this T Level course is your ideal starting point. Recognised as equivalent to three A Levels, it provides a practical, work-focused education designed to open doors to employment or further study in the creative sector.

Throughout the course, you will explore a broad range of issues relevant to the media landscape, including the creative economy, cultural context, audience needs, and legal requirements. You’ll also delve into professional standards, equality and diversity, and develop essential research and project management skills.

This project-based programme combines classroom learning with real-world experience. You will complete a minimum of 45 days in an occupational specialist industry placement with a media-oriented employer, allowing you to apply your skills in a practical setting. This invaluable experience, along with the classroom-based qualification, will give you insights into how the media industry operates and enhance your CV with additional UCAS points.

Every Media T Level includes an employer-set project, encompassing pitching and planning, research, product development, product creation, and reflective evaluations. With a blend of technical and interpersonal skills, you’ll be well-equipped to embark on a successful career in media.

What You'll Need

You will need five GCSEs at grades 4-9, or equivalent (including English and maths)
 
OR
 
A relevant Level 2 qualification (merit or distinction grade) including GCSE English and maths grades 4-9, or equivalent.

This Could Lead to

Upon successful completion of this Level 3 course, you can progress to a range of university-level courses, this can include HNC/HND qualifications within the college group or courses at university.

You can also progress into skilled employment or into a higher-level apprenticeship.
