This T Level in Health Science (Supporting Healthcare) is a practical, work-focused alternative to A Levels, providing new opportunities for skilled employment or higher education in the health sector. Over two years, you’ll gain a blend of core and specialist knowledge, supported by extensive work experience to develop your skills and confidence.
You’ll need to show competence in both practical skills and theoretical knowledge, which means either working or being on a practical placement throughout the course. A clear Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is also required.

You’ll complete a significant number of hours in health placements with up to two employers. Your progress will be assessed through observations, and you’ll need to achieve good progress against set targets.
This two-year T Level programme, equal to three A Levels, provides a comprehensive preparation for entering the healthcare field, whether you’re looking to go straight into employment or continue your studies in higher education.
You will need five GCSEs at grades 4-9, or equivalent (including English, maths and science)

Relevant Level 2 qualification (merit or distinction grade) including GCSE English, maths and science grades 4-9, or equivalent.

Once successfully completed you can progress to a range of university-level courses, this can include HTQ and HNC/HND qualifications within the college group or degree courses at university.
You can also progress into skilled employment or into a higher-level apprenticeship.
