This T Level is the perfect starting point to get you into Electrotechnical Engineering, a career with a blend of theoretical and hands-on practice.
In your first year, you will develop core knowledge needed for the building services and construction sectors, with your second year focused on the Electrotechnical specialism. Throughout the course, you will develop your knowledge, understanding and skills in:
The career opportunities in this specialism are endless and will involve working on advanced electrical systems that are needed in every building and structure, such as power and energy, telecommunications or electronics. As part of the T Level, you will also complete a minimum 45-day industry placement with an employer to give you real experience of a potential workplace.
T Levels are two-year, Level 3 study programmes that have been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses and are equivalent to three A Levels.
You will get a mix of hands-on practical training in workshops, classroom theory learning, and a minimum 45-day industry placement with an employer to give you real experience of the workplace. They also provide excellent progression into industry, apprenticeships as well as university.
You will need five GCSEs at grades 4-9, or equivalent (including English and maths)
OR
Relevant Level 2 qualification (merit or distinction grade) including GCSE English and maths grades 4-9, or equivalent.
Once completed you can progress to a range of degree-level courses, this can include HNC/HND qualifications within the college group or courses at university.
You can also progress into skilled employment or into a higher-level apprenticeship.
