The Course in Detail
Learning and development is an essential area for any type of forward thinking organisation. Learning Practitioners must have an energy and enthusiasm for work that’s focused on improving performance and delivering the best learning outcomes possible.
This apprenticeship will provide you with an excellent grounding in all aspects of planning, delivering and evaluating training. You will learn how to identify learning needs, design and source solutions and deliver effective training. You will also further develop your communication, interpersonal, team working and collaborative skills.
This apprenticeship standard covers the core skills, knowledge and behaviours to demonstrate competency of a Learning and Development Practitioner and covers key requirements to include:
- The training cycle
- Consulting with others to identify learning gaps
- Evaluation of delivery options
- Designing of engaging and innovative materials suitable for a range of media
- Evaluating the impact of learning from both the individual learners’ experience and the organisational perspective
- Communication
- Team working
- Collaborative skills
You will develop your skills, knowledge and behaviours through on and off-the-job training and are expected to attend College for pre-arranged masterclasses.
Entry Requirements & Progression
What You'll Need
You will need to have relevant employment, and entry is subject to interview and assessment.
GCSE English and maths grade 4/C or above (or Level 2 functional skills) are preferred.
This Could Lead to
After successful completion of the apprenticeship, you may have the opportunity to upskill to the Level 5 Operations or Departmental Manager Apprenticeship or other relevant university-level qualification.
Assessment
Your progress will be continuously monitored and supported by a Professional Trainer.
Depending on the standard, we assess your competence through various methods, such as practical exams, assignments, interviews, project work, presentations or observations and we will also evaluate your portfolio of evidence, which documents your learning and progress throughout your apprenticeship with us.
The apprenticeship end-point assessment is the final evaluation stage of your apprenticeship programme. It's designed to determine whether you have achieved the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to meet the apprenticeship standard and perform the job role independently.
Successful completion of the end-point assessment is required to receive certification.
