Are you looking to launch your career as a Gym Instructor or Personal Trainer?
This course is designed to equip you with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to thrive in the health and fitness industry. You’ll explore the key roles and responsibilities of a gym instructor and personal trainer throughout your studies.

You’ll complete 12 mandatory units, starting with essential knowledge areas such as Anatomy and Physiology, Sports Nutrition, and Exercise Psychology and Adherence. The remaining nine units will focus on practical skills, including Client Wellbeing, Conducting Consultations, and Planning Exercise Programmes.

To ensure you’re well-prepared for employment, the final unit covers important business concepts like marketing, legislation, and financial planning for a successful career. You’ll also produce a portfolio of evidence demonstrating your achievements, with assessments taking place in practical situations. To support this, you’ll need to secure a placement where you can gather the necessary evidence.

By the end of this course, you’ll have the skills and confidence to embark on a rewarding career in the fitness industry.

Entry Requirements & Progression

What You'll Need

You will need five GCSEs at grades 4-9 (including English and maths)
OR
A relevant Level 2 qualification (merit or distinction grade) including GCSE English and maths at grades 4-9.

You must be at least 17 years old to enrol on this course. Previous study at Level 2 or 3 within this area is desirable.

This Could Lead to

After successfully completing this course, you can progress to study a HNC or HND, University Degree or an Apprenticeship to further your skills.

You can also progress into employment in the industry.
