The Course in Detail

This Level 3 Games Development course invites you to dive into the exciting world of game design and development. You’ll gain critical thinking skills to turn your game ideas into immersive 3D environments, using industry-standard software like Unity, Unreal Engine, and Adobe Photoshop.

Throughout the course, you’ll learn to plan and produce storyboards, develop video games, and create a portfolio website as a games designer. In the second year, you’ll enhance your skills with digital media techniques, 3D modelling, and animation, while continuing to work on game development projects using Unreal Engine.

You’ll also benefit from valuable industry experiences through work placements, networking events, and trips to local radio stations and guest lectures from industry professionals. You’ll have access to top-notch facilities, including dedicated computer suites and a games studios equipped with the latest development and simulation software.

Entry Requirements & Progression

What You'll Need

You will need five GCSEs at grades 4-9, or equivalent (including English and maths)
 
OR a relevant Level 2 qualification (merit or distinction grade) including GCSE English and maths grades 4-9, or equivalent.

This Could Lead to

Upon successful completion of this Level 3 course, you can progress to a range of university-level courses, this can include HNC/HND qualifications within the college group or courses at university.

You can also progress into employment.
