The Course in Detail

You will learn the under pinning knowledge units for the Electrical Installation, Inspection Testing, Fault Diagnosis and Rectification. Assessment consists of multiple on-line exams, written assignments and practical performance. Block Release is over a duration of 2 years. You will achieve units towards the Level 3 Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment.

You will be continually assessed and you will progress through the knowledge and practical work at college. There will be practical training and assessment in the workshop. Underpinning knowledge is delivered through classwork, assignments, tutorials and lectures. Students will also take part in end of unit exams.

Entry Requirements & Progression

What You'll Need

Ideally GCSE grades A* – C in Maths, English, ICT and Science. All candidates will be interviewed and carry out an aptitude assessment to check suitability for the course. This will be undertaken by your Training Agent or by the Electrical department.

This Could Lead to

Obtain the full NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment qualification and be recognised as a qualified electrician.
