The Course in Detail

This advanced training programme provides a high level of expertise and enhanced career opportunities within your chosen profession. 

 

A portfolio of assessments is mandatory and theory exams are essential for the completion of the qualification. Assignments for underpinning knowledge is required. It is advisable to secure work experience alongside your qualification to further enhance your customer service skills. 

 

Your study programme will consist of the following units: 

  • Monitor and maintain health and safety
  • Client care and communication
  • Maintaining personal health and well being 
  • Provide body massage
  • Explore the origins of the principles of complementary alternative medicine
  • Apply stone therapy
  • Provide Indian head massage 
  • Provide massage using pre-blended aromatherapy oils

Entry Requirements & Progression

What You'll Need

Ideally a Level 2 beauty qualification or a background in anatomy and physiology. A minimum level of English is required to enable the successful completion of the underpinning knowledge. Applicants must have a genuine interest in holistic therapy, enthusiasm and commitment. A suitability and dexterity assessment may be required. There is a large proportion of independent and home study and practice required.

This Could Lead to

On completion of this course progression onto specialist pathways such as Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Nail services, Salon Management or a Level 3 body electrical unit to enable progression to Level 4 Advanced Beauty Therapy. The Level 4 management award can also be studied to support long term progression into management roles.
