Our part-time Dental Nursing course is designed to provide hands-on experience in direct chair-side assistance and support during various dental treatments. This qualification covers essential aspects such as ethics, professionalism, teamwork, and communication, all crucial for a successful career as a Dental Nurse and for becoming a GDC registrant.

You will learn a range of skills and best practises to support your knowledge and to help develop your skills as a dental nurse in areas such as;
You must be at least 18 years old
Be employed as a trainee dental nurse for a minimum of 16 hours per week
Have GCSEs at grades 9-4 (A*- C), including English, or have successfully completed a Level 2 Functional Skills qualification
You will also be required to attend an interview as part of the application process
Completion of this qualification will enable students to register with the General Dental Council and find employment as a Dental Nurse.

With additional entry requirements, Dental Nursing can lead to other career pathways including Dental Therapist, Dental Hygienist, Orthodontic Therapist, Laboratory Technician, Senior Nurse, Practice Manager, Lecturer and Teacher and Assessor of Dental Students.
