Artists and designers are involved in creating everything we buy and see in the world around us, including book covers, packaging, advertising campaigns, fashion, photography, and much more. You may also choose to use your creativity and passion to help others, such as through art therapy or teaching.
This course will help you develop your talents across a wide range of disciplines, such as drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, graphics, textiles and fashion . You’ll benefit from a work experience placement, trips, and guest speakers to support your learning and prepare you for your future career.
In the summer term you’ll choose one discipline to explore in detail for your final project, then showcase your work to the public in our professional art exhibition.
You will need five GCSEs at grades 4-9, or equivalent (including English and maths)
OR
Relevant Level 2 qualification (merit or distinction grade) including GCSE English and maths grades 4-9, or equivalent
AND
Portfolio of artwork/photography.
Upon successful completion of this two-year Level 3 course, you can progress to:
HNC/HND in Art & Design
HNC/HND in Photography
Work freelance or as a trainee designer or photographer
