The Course in Detail

Access to Higher Education Diplomas are designed for people who would like to study at a degree level but currently do not have the necessary qualifications to apply but who do have life experience and a willingness to learn.

This diploma will prepare you for studying at undergraduate level and the knowledge required to progress to a degree in nursing. On successful completion of the diploma, with the required amount of UCAS points, you will be able to enter university and achieve your ambition of becoming a nurse.

This course is suitable for Adult, Mental Health, Children’s and Learning Disability Nursing.

The units that you will complete include skills for learning biology, psychology, sociology and health. You will be assessed by a variety of methods, including essays, reports and presentations.

Entry Requirements & Progression

What You'll Need

You will require GCSE English, maths and biology at grade 4/C or above.

It is advisable to have some experience in care either work or volunteering (depending on your choice of degree).

You will be required to complete an IAG unit “Preparing for Success” and then will be fully enrolled on to the course.

Important Note – This course is fully online therefore you will need to have access to a PC or laptop; a mobile phone is not suitable.

Upon successful completion, you will be able to go on to university and study BSc Nursing.

You will need to apply to university through UCAS and full support will be given.
