*This is a progression only course. There is no direct entry without first completing a Level 1 Painting & Decorating qualification.
In this course, you’ll continue to develop your painting and decorating skills, learning advanced techniques that will allow you to gain employment in the industry.
This will include applying various oil/water based paints to different surfaces, using materials to enhance and protect surfaces, applying specialist decorative finishes, and fixing common surface coating and wall covering problems.
You’ll gain all the knowledge and skills required to become a skilled Painter and Decorator, plus you’ll benefit from trips, guest speakers, and a work placement to give you real experience in your future career.
You will need a relevant Level 1 qualification (merit or distinction grade) including GCSE English and maths grades 4-9, or equivalent.
This full-time course is designed for young people aged 16-18 (or up to 24 if supported with an EHCP).
Once completed you may be able to progress into an apprenticeship or entry level employment in the construction industry.
