You’ll explore essential areas such as event regulations, engine mechanical systems, lubrication and cooling systems, as well as fuel, ignition, air, and exhaust systems. Gain hands-on experience in inspecting competition vehicles and learn the critical skills for removing and replacing chassis, electrical, and transmission components.

Your education will also cover health and safety practices in the workplace, ensuring you’re well-prepared for a career in motorsport. You can opt to study additional specialist units, further enhancing your expertise in motorsport maintenance and repair.

Entry Requirements & Progression

What You'll Need

You will need four GCSEs at grades 3-9, or equivalent (including English, maths and
science)
 
OR
 
Relevant Level 1 qualification including GCSE English, maths and science at grades 3-9.

This Could Lead to

Once completed you may be able to progress onto the Level 3 T Level Engineering: Maintenance, Installation & Repair: Light & Electric Vehicles or into an apprenticeship.

You can also progress to entry level employment in the industry.
