Style your way to success as a Hairdressing apprentice.
Working in a salon on the Level 2 Hair Professional Apprenticeship, you’ll train as a Junior Stylist and will gain the required set of skills, knowledge and behaviours to work competently as a professional hairdresser. You’ll learn to carry out duties such as shampooing, conditioning, drying, colouring, styling and hair cutting services, designed around the needs of the business you’re working at.
In addition to learning quality technical skills, you’ll learn how to carry out consultations with clients, work with different hair types, demonstrate exceptional client care skills, safe working practices associated with your role and be able to work to a high level of precision without supervision.
You will acquire and develop the appropriate skills, knowledge and behaviours required for a hairdressing role. This will include how to:
You will develop your skills, knowledge and behaviours through on and off-the-job training and are expected to attend College on a day release basis.
You will need to have relevant employment, and entry is subject to interview and assessment.
GCSE English and maths grade 4-9 (or Level 2 functional skills) are preferred.
Progression to the Level 3 Advanced & Creative Hair Professional Apprenticeship will help advance your career in the Hairdressing sector, and open up a wealth of higher level job role opportunities.
Your progress will be continuously monitored and supported by a Professional Trainer.
Depending on the standard, we assess your competence through various methods, such as practical exams, assignments, interviews, project work, presentations or observations and we will also evaluate your portfolio of evidence, which documents your learning and progress throughout your apprenticeship with us.
The apprenticeship end-point assessment is the final evaluation stage of your apprenticeship programme. It's designed to determine whether you have achieved the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to meet the apprenticeship standard and perform the job role independently.
Successful completion of the end-point assessment is required to receive certification.
