This Marine Technologies course will provide you with the skills and experience of using the latest marine technical processes. You will be taught in our dedicated woodworking, marine engineering and marine electrical workshops at our brand-new specialist Maritime Centre of Excellence at Southampton College – opening September 2025!
Our industry experienced lecturers will teach you a range of boat building and marine engineering techniques and in the second year you will get to specialise in one of these career pathways.

You will need four GCSEs at grades 3-9, or equivalent (including English, maths and science).
Once completed you may be able to progress onto our Level 2 Marine Engineering course to advance your skills, or an Apprenticeship in Marine Engineering, Marine Electrical or Boat Building.
You can also progress into entry level work in marine construction or engineering.
