The Course in Detail

This course aims to develop your knowledge and awareness across a broad range of Health, Science and Early Years topics. The course provides a pathway into the sector for anyone considering a career in health, childcare, social care, sport or nutrition.

Alongside the core study programme you will also work towards achieving your Maths and English qualifications if required.

Throughout the course you will learn about the industry and the job roles within, developing and exploring the values and behaviours required for employees in the sector. You will develop an understanding of the importance of safeguarding vulnerable people and how to work in a safe manner for clients and yourself.

During the course you will develop a portfolio of evidence including personal and group project work, essays and leaflets. This portfolio will make up the bulk of your assessment material.

What You'll Need

GCSE grade profile of 2/3 with English and Maths at a minimum of grade 2.

This Could Lead to

Students who successfully complete this course can progress onto the next level of study, provided they meet the necessary entry requirements and achieve their English and Maths. Volunteering, gaining work or an Apprenticeship are also options following completion.
