Are you ready to forge a future in engineering? This course is your perfect starting point, offering a strong foundation in practical skills and industry knowledge that employers are actively looking for.

You’ll develop hands-on expertise in core engineering disciplines such as hand fitting and assembly, milling and turning, fabrication and welding, alongside key engineering principles, safety practices, and the application of maths and science in engineering.

To further prepare you for your future, you’ll participate in a range of activities including tutorials, work-related learning, careers fairs, site visits, and sessions with guest speakers. These experiences will help you build the personal and professional skills needed to achieve your progression goals.

This course is taught in our state-of-the-art workshops, equipped to industry standards. You’ll gain hands-on experience in environments designed to replicate real-world settings, including:
• Extensive fabrication and welding workshops
• Machining workshop
• Electronics workshop
• Modern CAD 2D and 3D equipment and software

What You'll Need

You will need four GCSEs at grades 2-9, or equivalent (including English and maths).

This Could Lead to

Once completed you may be able to progress to Level 2 Engineering Technologies, Level 2 Aerospace & Aviation Engineering, or alternatively into an apprenticeship.
