This course is ideal for anyone looking to learn basic welding skills to enable you to carry out DIY projects. By using jigs to represent a floor or door panel, you will be able to make a repair by removing the material and then replace it and weld into place. MIG welding can also be used in a variety of ways such as making of furniture, i.e. garden seats, hanging baskets, and also decorative items in the home such as wine racks, newspaper holders, and candle stick holders.
Please note that welding of structural components on cars or motorcycles will not be part of this course. You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and learn the basics of MIG welding (Metal Inert Gas).

This course is an ideal introduction to MIG welding, suitable for complete beginners or those learners who would like to brush up on their skills.
Please note if you have an electrical or battery device for health reasons such as a pacemaker, please consult your doctor before booking on this course. The wearing of contact lenses is not permitted during this course. Devices such as hearing aids will be acceptable as these can be removed during welding or suitable ear protection can be worn.
Please note that you will need to purchase flame retardant overalls (boiler suit) and leather steel toe cap boots to take part in this course.
Students may consider further training or courses within welding, including the qualifications offered by the college.
