This is a twenty week course for NHS staff from Winchester or Basingstoke sites. The purpose of this course is to achieve either a Level 1 or Level 2 Functional Skill Maths qualification to support career progression. This course is an online course but there is the expectation to attend the College site to sit the final exam. Classes are delivered on a weekly basis. Each weekly session lasts three hours and covers all the essential skills needed for exam success.
Students will be assessed during the first weeks of the course. While initial assessments help determine the right starting point, students are expected to work at Level 1 or Level 2 Functional Skill Level. A good understanding of English speaking, reading, and writing is essential. This course is for Hampshire Hospital Foundation Trust staff only based at either Winchester or Basingstoke site.
Students who begin at Level 1 may progress to Level 2 Functional Skills Maths if appropriate. Other progression routes include GCSE Maths, apprenticeships, further education courses.
