The Course in Detail
This course will develop your knowledge of science and is an excellent progression route into the Applied Science (Applied, Forensic or Medical Science) or any other Science related course at Level 3 such as Engineering, Sport, or Health and Social Care.
You will study a range of science subjects, together with some specialist options. You will also develop your English and maths skills to best prepare you for higher level study.
During the course you will complete practical work in our science laboratory and complete a series of assignments, presentations and written lab reports.
Some of the topics covered will include:
- Principles of science
- Chemistry and the earth
- Biology and the environment
- Practical scientific project
- Investigating a crime scene
- The living body
Entry Requirements & Progression
What You'll Need
You will need five GCSEs at grades 3-9, or equivalent (including English, maths and science).
This full-time course is designed for young people aged 16-18 (or up to 24 if supported with an EHCP).
This Could Lead to
Successful completion of this Level 2 course will open up opportunities for you to progress on to a range of applied science or science-related Level 3 advanced courses, for example: Forensics, Engineering, Sport, Health and Social Care.
