The Course in Detail

The VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments is an advanced qualification that has been specifically designed for beauty therapists.

You will learn the science and practical application of laser and intense pulsed light (IPL) technology for aesthetic treatments, with a focus on hair reduction and skin rejuvenation. You will also build the professional skills needed to work safely and effectively in a salon or clinical environment. Key areas of study include:

  • Learn how laser and IPL systems work and how light interacts with skin and hair
  • Carry out client consultations, skin and hair analysis, and suitability assessments
  • Deliver hair removal treatments using laser and IPL devices
  • Perform skin rejuvenation treatments for pigmentation, texture, and overall skin tone
  • Follow health, safety, hygiene, and risk management procedures when using advanced equipment
  • Develop client care, communication, and aftercare planning skills
  • Combine theory and practical work to build a professional portfolio demonstrating competence
