Are you creative, curious about how brands connect with people and interested in how marketing influences what we see, buy and engage with?

Our T Level Marketing course will give you the knowledge, practical skills and industry experience you need to start a career in marketing.

You’ll explore how businesses use marketing to understand their customers, build brands and promote products and services. You’ll develop skills across areas such as digital marketing, social media, advertising, market research, content and marketing communications, while gaining valuable experience through an industry placement.

This is a two-year Level 3 qualification, equivalent to three A Levels, giving you a strong foundation for progression into employment, higher-level apprenticeships or university.

You’ll develop a broad understanding of marketing and how it supports organisations across different sectors.

You’ll learn about:

  • The purpose and role of marketing within an organisation
  • Marketing principles, strategies and campaigns
  • Customer and consumer behaviour
  • Market research and using information to understand customers
  • Customer personas and how they can inform marketing activity
  • Branding and marketing communications
  • The promotional mix, including advertising, public relations, direct marketing and sales promotion
  • Digital technology and its impact on marketing
  • Routes to market and the role of suppliers and procurement
  • Customer experience and the customer journey
  • Business objectives and how marketing supports them
  • Legal, regulatory and ethical considerations in marketing
  • Sustainability and responsible marketing
  • How marketing activity can be planned, delivered and evaluated

You’ll also develop specialist skills through the Marketing Assistant (Multi-Channel) occupational specialism, where you’ll apply your knowledge to real marketing activities. This includes researching and analysing information, understanding customer needs, developing marketing propositions, delivering marketing communications and evaluating marketing activity.

You’ll learn through a combination of classroom-based teaching, practical activities, projects, research, presentations and industry-focused tasks.

You’ll have opportunities to work on realistic marketing scenarios, developing the skills you need to communicate ideas, solve problems and create effective marketing activity.

A key part of the T Level is your industry placement, where you’ll spend a minimum of 45 days with an employer. This gives you the opportunity to put your learning into practice, develop your workplace skills and gain valuable experience of working in a professional marketing environment.

Your placement could give you experience of areas such as social media, digital marketing, content creation, communications, events, market research or campaign planning, depending on your employer.

Industry placement

Your industry placement is a key part of your T Level and gives you the chance to gain valuable experience alongside your studies.
