Develop the knowledge and confidence to recognise, understand and respond to bullying affecting children and young people with this nationally recognised Level 2 Certificate.
This flexible online course is ideal for anyone working with, or hoping to work with, children and young people, including those in education, childcare, youth work or community settings. You’ll gain an understanding of the different forms of bullying, including cyber bullying, the impact bullying can have on a child’s wellbeing and development, and the steps that can be taken to support those affected.
Throughout the course, you’ll explore the principles of bullying, how to identify the signs that a child or young person may be experiencing bullying, and why some children engage in bullying behaviour. You’ll also learn about appropriate interventions, current legislation and government guidance, including the Equality Act 2010 and Ofsted expectations.
The course covers:
- The principles of bullying and cyber bullying
- The different types and causes of bullying
- The short and long-term effects bullying can have on children and young people
- Recognising the signs that a child or young person may be experiencing bullying
- How to support children and young people who are being bullied
- How to approach and manage bullying behaviour appropriately
- The Equality Act 2010 and current government and Ofsted guidance
- Organisational policies and procedures for preventing and responding to bullying
