The Course in Detail
This course is suited for those wishing to learn basic vehicle maintenance and gain the confidence to work on their own vehicle at home and when to know to seek further advice from a professional. No experience is required, tools or vehicles will be required as this will all be provided by the college. All work will be carried out in our fully equipped motor vehicle workshops on road worthy vehicles.
Basic vehicle servicing which will include:
· Brake checks
· Fluid level checks and replacement procedures
· Filter changing
· Battery checks/tests
· Basic electrical testing
· Vehicle safety checks
· Basic engine maintenance

A place on your chosen course is not confirmed until enrolment is complete, and any relevant fees are paid. Adult course times, dates, durations and fees may be subject to change, and courses may be cancelled if minimum numbers are not met.

What You'll Need
There are no entry requirements for our Adult Community Learning Courses.
Our Adult Community Learning Co-ordinator will be in contact once we have received your application.
Please note this is not a qualified course.
However, students are required to bring overalls and steel toe capped boots to the sessions.
This Could Lead to
Students will be able to carry out basic vehicle checks on their vehicle. The course may interest them in looking into entry level work in a car garage.
Students may consider further courses in Vehicle Maitenenance, including the qualification courses offered by the college. Further information on these is available on the website and can be discussed with your lecturer.
