The Course in Detail

This course will help students understand basic plumbing, including how to connect different materials used in plumbing, and carrying out small repairs using the skills gained.  

It is aimed at students who wish to understand basic plumbing methods and the hand tools involved in plumbing. It will give foundation knowledge for use at home or for possible course progression into industry.  

 

Students will learn:

  • Basic plumbing hand tools. 

  • Different plumbing materials (working with and connecting). 

  • Basic knowledge of how taps operate and workings of bathroom sanitaryware. 

  • Basic knowledge of how radiators work, with maintenance and installation of radiator and associated valves

What You'll Need

There are no entry requirements for our Adult Community Learning Courses. 

Our Adult Community Learning Co-ordinator will be in contact once we have received your application. 

Please note that this course does not provide you with the qualifications to trade as a plumber. 

This Could Lead to

The course can lead to part time Level 2 BPEC Plumbing Studies.  

Students may consider further courses in plumbing, including the qualification courses offered by the college. Further information on these is available on the website and can be discussed with your lecturer.
