The Course in Detail

This course teaches how to safely and efficiently accept and disperse vehicles. You will learn how to avoid risks and practice the standard signals used for vehicles.

This Banksman Awareness course introduces the key responsibilities involved in supporting safe vehicle and mobile plant movements. Suitable for banksmen across a wide range of industries, it explains how to help manage risks, guide drivers and operators safely, and keep pedestrians clear of work areas.

The course also covers the standard hand signals used under the Health and Safety (Safety Signs and Signals) Regulations 1996, using visuals and animations to show them in practice. It is designed to support on-site practical training or act as a refresher for experienced banksmen. This course does not include an ID card.

On this course you will learm:

  • Recognise risks associated with vehicle movements on site
  • Apply relevant legislation and best practice for vehicle and pedestrian management
  • Use standard hand signals and guide vehicles safely around site
  • Participate in site traffic management to ensure safe operations
  • Theory knowledge check and practical demonstration of marshalling skills
