The Course in Detail

Do you love art and being creative with different materials?  Then come and join our weekly Tuesday Art Club, specifically designed for adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities.

This hands on course will allow you to create your own pieces of art using a variety of materials and techniques.  We will look at lots of different topics and styles to create amazing pieces of art.  This may include working in nature, creating pieces from recycled materials, and being inspired by the world around us.

You will use different media and materials, try a variety of art techniques and methods and study how other artists have explored this topic.  Each week you will create your own art work and record your development and ideas in a sketchbook. This creative class will also help you further develop your social skills including speech, listening and creative thinking.

This is a leisure course so there will be no assessment or qualification.  A College certificate will be issued on completion.

You will be taught in small groups by an experienced tutor. Our classes are designed to be hands on and interactive. Your tutor will be both friendly and accommodating, ensuring your experience on the workshop is fun and engaging.

Here at Eastleigh College, we are proud of our comfortable, welcoming learning environment and community venues. You’ll be alongside other people who are keen to learn the same skills and have some fun. There is absolutely no pressure or expectations; we just want everyone to have the best time possible and leave feeling proud of their new skills.

Course fee concessions are possible – eligibility is based on income.
