The Course in Detail

The aim of this qualification is to recognise the skills, knowledge and competence required for an individual to work unsupervised as a personal trainer. This includes being able to offer one-to-one training, baseline assessment, nutritional advice and progressive programming which is specific to the individual needs of a client.

Learners will cover:

  • Applied anatomy and physiology
  • Nutrition and its application to support a client’s health
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Effective communication through client consultations to encourage long term change
  • Designing and planning effective personal training sessions for a range of clients in different environments
  • Executing physical activity session for a range of clients in different environments
  •  Professional practice and legal requirements
  • Business acumen for working in both employed and self employment
  • Self evaluation and professional development.

What You'll Need

You must hold a recognised qualification in level 2 in gym instructing to enrol on this course. If you are unsure if your qualification meets these requirements please contact us. All learners must be willing to take part in physical activity and display confidence when leading an exercise session. A pre-entry requirement for the course is the completion of an initial and diagnostic assessment in English.

This Could Lead to

The level 3 Diploma in Personal Training qualifies you to design and deliver 1:1 and group sessions to help clients achieve their goals. Many candidates work in a self employed capacity while others work for established organisations.

This course is internationally recognised as well as being REPS/CIMPSA regulated which enables all candidates to gain valid insurance to safely complete their desired job role in the UK or abroad.

This qualification enables candidates to enrol onto further study in the fitness industry. Courses often undertaken by our learners are level 3 Sports Massage, Level 4 Nutrition and Level 3 exercise referral.

Personal training is the gateway to many opportunities in the health and fitness sector and a requirement to move into a more specialist field such as working with special populations.
