You will participate in gym sessions together with the completion of theory work. Self study and research is required as part of this course. A pre-course telephone interview will be completed to identify that the course is suitable for you.
The qualification is gained by successfully completing one externally marked theory paper on Anatomy and Physiology and a number of online and paper based questions. A number of practical assessments will be carried out and assessed internally along with successful completion of workbooks. The qualification is at Level 2 and gives points on the Register of Exercise Professionals and endorsed by CIMPSA. A mix of theory and practical sessions will be used throughout the course.
The theory element of the course covers anatomy & physiology, customer experience, lifestyle management and preparing for a gym based programme, planning circuits and kettlebell sessions. The practical elements of the course consists of Cardiovascular and resistance/free weight gym training, inducting new clients into the gym environment and delivery of exercise sessions. This will also include screening and programme writing for specific clients. You will be taught how to deliver these components and gain the relevant knowledge to complete this highly recognised qualification within the fitness industry.
