The Course in Detail

This course is for learners aged 19+ with Learning Difficulties and/or Disabilities.

You will learn all the skills you need to prepare every day, family favourite meals for yourself and your friends and family to enjoy.  You’ll learn how to safely use the kitchen equipment to prepare and cook your meal.  You’ll also learn about different ingredients and store cupboard items and how they add flavour to your meal but allow you to stick to a budget. 

By the end of the course you will have the skills you need to create every day meals along with a range of recipes and methods to follow.  This is a leisure course so there will be no formal assessments or qualifications.  An Eastleigh College Certificate will be issued on completion of the course.

Course fee concessions are possible – eligibility is based on income.

This course is part of our Adult Enrichment Programme which is designed to offer a range of opportunities for adult learners with mild to moderate learning disabilities.  All that is required is an enthusiasm to take part.  Please contact us on 023 8091 1270 if you are not sure if this course is suitable for you.

Do you have any interest in cooking and learning new kitchen skills?  Then come and join our Everyday Cooking course, specifically tailored for adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities.

This is a leisure course so designed to be fun, engaging and interactive.  Whilst there is no official progression, learners are welcome to re-enrol on this course or try one of our other Adult Enrichment Courses.
