The Course in Detail

T Levels are new two-year courses, developed in collaboration with employers so that the course content meets the needs of industry and prepares learners for the world of work.
 
The qualification will help you gain an understanding of the engineering industry and the sector and you will cover topics in the engineering core element such as:

  • Customer and client requirements
  • Principles of design
  • Design processes
  • Communication in design

You will have the choice of studying one standalone Occupational Specialism as listed below:

  • Mechanical engineering
  • Electrical and electronic engineering

This technical qualification focuses on the development of knowledge and skills needed for working in the Engineering industry.

Entry Requirements & Progression

What You'll Need

You will need five GCSEs at grades 4-9, or equivalent (including English, maths and science)
 
OR
 
Relevant Level 2 qualification (merit or distinction grade) including GCSE English and maths grades 4-9, or equivalent.

This Could Lead to

Once completed you can progress to a range of university-level courses, this can include HNC/HND qualifications within the college group or courses at university.

You can also progress into skilled employment or into a higher-level apprenticeship.
