By collaborating closely with local employers, we offer students the chance to engage in practical projects, gain industry insights, and develop a thorough understanding of their chosen fields. These partnerships not only enhance the learning experience but also provide invaluable networking opportunities and pathways to meaningful and lifelong careers.


Business Plus is our dedicated team who provide services include sourcing and supporting the delivery of industry placements, creating and delivering innovative adult learning programmes and developing Traineeships and the sector-based Work Academy programmes.


Apprenticeships have enjoyed a surge in prestige amongst employers in recent years and are now more popular across the UK than they have ever been before. Employing an apprentice gives an individual a fantastic opportunity to grow and develop in a way that can significantly benefit your organisation, as well as the local community and the wider economy.


Employers who have an established apprenticeship programme reported that productivity in their workplace had improved by 78%, whilst 74% reported that apprenticeships improved the quality of their product or service. Other benefits that apprenticeships contribute towards include:

Workforce Development

South Hampshire College Group offers a range of short courses, part-time courses, Higher Technical Courses (HTQs) and online learning modules.

South Coast Institute of Technology

South Hampshire College Group is proud to be part of the South coast Institute of Technology which is backed with over £13 million in funding from the Department for Education, the South Coast Institute of Technology is a collaboration of five further education colleges and two universities.


Working with well known employers including The Royal Navy, Portsmouth International Port and Maritime UK Solent to deliver industry-led courses which fill skills gaps in the Maritime, Engineering and digital sectors. Creating career pathways to deliver and support the economic growth of the South Coast.

How you can help

Industry placements

Industry placements are more intensive than traditional work experience, providing a more comprehensive and structured work placement that can equip trainees with a greater variety of skills to make a more meaningful impact on your organisation.


Employers in England have the ability to offer industry placements to T Level students, a dynamic new pathway of learning which has a heavier emphasis on industry work placements while still maintaining the benefits of classroom learning to create a highly skilled and competent new generation of workers.
