A spring-themed jewellery-making workshop for leisure, wellbeing and social purposes.
Learners will learn how to create daisy charms using flexible wire and different combinations of beads. You will then learn how to hang these charms to create a beautiful charm bracelet or necklace.
With Mother’s Day and Easter round the corner, it’s a chance to make unique spring-themed creations, great for wearing yourself or for giving as gifts.
Your tutor will be patient, passionate, and knowledgeable. The sessions will be informative, practical and fun, in a supportive and friendly group of likeminded adults.
The course is suitable for beginners. Learners will be provided all tools, equipment and tuition needed for jewellery making.
You will have handouts to refer to and will be guided through jewellery-making techniques via a demonstration. The instructor will give regular feedback to you as they work and each you will be encouraged to explore your own design ideas through a range of beads, charms and wire.
You will learn how to use pliers, and about different jewellery findings and materials such as chains, head and eye pins and jump rings.
You will also use flexible craft wire to create floral designs. You will be able to confidently create charm jewellery by the end of this session.
Whilst there will be examples to follow, you will be given freedom to develop your design skills and come up with your own interpretations using the materials on offer.
There is no formal assessment or exam. You will be taught through a mixture of presentation, discussion and practical tasks.
A South Hampshire College Group certificate will be awarded following successful completion of the workshop.
There are no formal entry requirements in respect for this course.
This short workshop may inspire you to try more jewellery-making projects at home, for fun or even to develop into a side-business.
