Our Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Performing Arts is delivered by professionals with a creative and innovative approach to training, understanding that many of our Performers intend to make a career in the arts, entertainment and education industries.
The HNC in Performing Arts will further enhance multi-disciplinary performance skills whilst embedding a broad theoretical understanding of practitioners and techniques to create performance work. It is equivalent to the first year of study on an undergraduate degree at university.
You will be expected to work independently to professional standards in our state-of-the-art rehearsal and performance studios. The aims for the programme is to:
You will be assessed via a combination of assignments, practical assessments, performances and a portfolio of recorded work.
Minimum requirements are a Level 3 Extended Diploma or A Levels in relevant subjects and an audition and interview. For mature learners, or if you do not have the UCAS point requirements but have appropriate experience, specific knowledge or industry-based qualifications, then your application is welcomed.
Upon successful completion of the Level 4 HNC, you can progress to a Level 5 Higher National Diploma (HND) in Performing Arts. This qualification will also give you the opportunity to enrol on a suitable performing arts degree at university or drama schools, or enter employment.
