Are you passionate about fitness and ready to turn it into a career?

This course is ideal for those who are active in exercise and confident working with the public. You’ll gain a broad understanding of the dynamic fitness industry, combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on training in our industry-standard gym facilities.

You’ll learn from a range of units, including Fitness Skills Development, Personal Trainer Skills Development, Health, Wellbeing and Sport, and Nutrition for Physical Performance. You’ll also explore Business and Technology in Personal Training and Self-employment in Sport and Physical Activity, equipping you with the tools needed to thrive in this sector. You’ll have the opportunity to apply your learning in a work placement, gaining valuable real-world experience.

Throughout your studies, you’ll complete projects and assignments based on realistic workplace scenarios, helping you develop the skills employers are looking for. You’ll also learn about career opportunities within the sport and active leisure industry, such as personal training, sports massage, and fitness testing.

To succeed, you’ll need to be self-motivated, confident, and a strong communicator—qualities that will benefit both your coursework and future career.

What You'll Need

You will need five GCSEs at grades 4-9, or equivalent, (including English and maths)

Relevant Level 2 qualification (merit or distinction grade) including GCSE English and maths at grades 4-9, or equivalent.

This Could Lead to

After successfully completing this course, you can progress to study a HNC or HND, University Degree or an Apprenticeship to further your skills.

You can also progress into employment in the industry.
