The Course in Detail

Through a combination of practical and theoretical work, you will use the latest industry-standard technology and software to learn how to produce a range of media products including film/video production, multi-camera studio production, visual effects, digital print and journalism.

You will have the choice of various projects on the course which will help you to develop skills in the specific area of the media industry that interests you.
 
You will learn how to research, plan and create content, explore different media platforms using the latest digital tools, and learn how to work with clients to produce media products to an industry specification. Within the range of projects, you will learn photography techniques, documentary filmmaking, live television production, motion graphics and studio procedure, while gaining an understanding of the media theory that underpins the practice.

Study visits will include regular visits to national media organisations.

Entry Requirements & Progression

What You'll Need

Five GCSEs at grade 9-4 including English and Maths, or a full Level 2 Media qualification and grades 9-4 in GCSE English and Maths.

This Could Lead to

You can progress to the HND Creative Media Production (Film & TV) course at Fareham College, or apply to university to study a degree or HND in a related subject.
